1. General information
This subject provides students with the knowledge and skills necessary to address the various processes that are framed in the field of sculpture. Knowledge of the properties of materials, and of the techniques and procedures required for their transformation are essential to express ideas in a three-dimensional way. This learning contributes to broaden the perspectives of their creative options, being able to be integrated in turn in the processes of other disciplines (painting, photography, video, drawing, engraving...) as well as in other fields of knowledge (cinema, music, theatre, literature...),
These approaches and objectives are aligned with the following SDGs (https://www.un.org/sustainabledevelopmente/es/ such that the acquisition of the subject learning results provides training and competence to contribute to some extent to their achievement. Goals 4, 5 and 11.
2. Learning results
- To know and apply the rules of prevention, safety and individual protection for the elaboration of artistic works in
sculpture workshops.
- To know the processes of the basic sculpting techniques, the operation of the tools and machines used, and the main properties of the materials used.
- To use correctly the most appropriate production methods in each case for a good execution of the works.
- To be able to materialize quality sculptural proposals, both in their formal result and in their discursive approach.
- To be able to plan and develop a complex creative process that simultaneously considers the discourse adequacy to the materials and procedures.
- To be able to reflect analytically and critically, drawing conclusions about the work carried out.

- Teaching assignments: 25 hours
Both the evaluable teaching assignments and the preparation of laboratory practice reports are included.
- Study and personal work: 50 hours

5. Assessment system
There will be a continuous evaluation of the monitoring of work and participation, assessing the degree of conceptual and procedural evolution of each student throughout the term. The grades will be made public at the end of each exercise. In order to be evaluated according to this criterion (continuous evaluation), students must attend at least 80% of the classes and have delivered, within the corresponding deadlines, the proposed exercises. All assignments are mandatory (which means they must be passed), but students who have attended regularly may waive one of the grades in order to find their average grade.
Students who do not take the continuous evaluation, or do not attend class with the indicated regularity, may take the Global Evaluation which will consist of an exam to pass the subject, the percentages of which will be as follows:
- Up to 80% of the grade (practical test) for the realization of a sculptural project justified by a conceptual development.
- Up to 20% of the grade (theoretical test) for the exam of questions on the contents and topics developed in class (a minimum grade of 4 is required to pass this exam).
_______
GLOBAL TEST
All students are entitled to a global test to pass the subject or to improve the grade obtained Students attending the exam must be punctual on the day and at the time indicated in the exam notice, otherwise they will be considered as "No Show".
SECOND CALL
The evaluation in the second call, to which all students who have not passed the subject will be entitled, will be carried out by means of a global test to be taken during the period established for this purpose by the Governing Council in the academic calendar
